More art
On a more serious note than my previous entry, I downloaded a vector graphics program today, and using my laptop’s trackpad as an improvised graphics tablet, I drew the following.

Now stop. Decide what you think the picture is of before reading any further.
On first viewing (albeit from a slightly oblique angle) I was informed by my mum that it looked kind of like a hamburger. This made me feel rather like a child whose drawing of Mummy is mistaken for a piece of fruit. However, I perservere. Post what you first thought this was before reading this paragraph, and don’t be influenced by other people’s comments. I’m interested to see what people think…

A whale, under a purple sky.

A desert with the sky above it in two tones (for some reason). The white splodges in both the blue and purple sections are clouds, but of different types, and the white squiggle between the yellow and blue regions represents the effect of some sort of heat haze.
Come to think of it, the beach explanation, with the blue section being the sea, makes a lot more sense, particularly with those black wave-lines.

An abstract logo. Perhaps a little oval-shaped.
Or, a child’s unskilled drawing of a sausage.

Oh I didn’t see the yellow bit, but the middle bit still has a whale face to the left.

The beach at Takayama! :-) I would have said the beach in Aji – but our beach is the pits. BTW I think its pretty good.

Thank you Laurie! I can’t say I was thinking of Tak specifically, especially as I only saw the beach from a distance, but it’s certainly a beach.
